It is recommended for Tri-X, T-Max and HP-5 films; however, it is also excellent with slower films. The contrast can be controlled by development time. The chemicals in the kit will make a working solution with a capacity for six rolls of film. The shelf life of the working solution is six months.

MCM 100 is a classic fine-grain film developer that is a good choice for portraits. It requires two stops of overexposure. I use AristaEDU 100 rated at EI 25 and develop for 14 minutes at 72F/22C with agitation for 5 seconds every 30 seconds.

MCM provides the best balance of film speed, tones, and tight fine grain of any developer I've used. Unlike Edwal 12 the highlight are printable, unlike 777 the grain is tight and even. Must be used with care, gloves, saftey glasses, and it will stain, it a great option.
