Formulary's 120 Low Contrast Paper Developer is a metol-based developer, and is similar in composition to Ansco 120. Developer 120 produces soft prints with good blacks and neutral tones and should not be confused with Formulary Developer 120 ED, which is a high-contrast catechol developer. The prints have good tonal separation with a decrease of 1/2 to 1 paper grades of contrast. The chemicals in the formula prepare a stock solution which is diluted 1:2 for the working solution. The stock solution is stable for 2 to 3 months, but the working solution can be used for only one printing session.
