Crane's paper is recommended for alternative process printing by expert printers. It is 100% cotton fiber, acid-free and neutral PH. It is available pre-packaged in 9x11 and 11.5x14 sizes, as well as full sheets.
The larger size of paper (26X40) will require additional shipping added to them when shipped. Due to the size of the packaging our website isn't able to calculate that.

I was eager to receive this paper because I remembered a Cranes paper I used years ago that I loved. This is a thicker version of that paper, but I found the exposures for cyanotype double or tripled and then most of the image washed away. I'd be interested to hear how other people respond to this paper and if they have the same issues.

We'd been trying to make cyanotypes for too long. We'd tried different coating methods and different papers, only to fail again and again. Our cyanotypes kind of worked, but never as smoothly as we wanted. Our last order of New Cyanotype chemistry came with a tiny sample of this paper. It was so much better. The chemistry went on evenly and smoothly with no blotches or puddles. We ordered an assortment of sizes and at last have — at long last – cyanotype success. What a relief.

I uncovered a batch of Cranes Cover paper that I used and set aside for Pt/Pd printing 25 or so years ago and began making prints on it (I had switched to other papers in the interim with often variable results). I was impressed once again with the quality of prints made on the old paper and ordered some of the current Cranes Cover. Regrettably, it is not suitable for Pt/Pd printing - very grainy, etc. May be OK for Cyanotype and other alt processes. Wish Cranes would rededicate itself to serving the needs of the fine art community.

They ship these large sheets between two flimsy pieces of cardboard, so by the time you receive it, the corners are all dog-eared and there's likely to be faint creases down the middle from bends in shipping.
Steps taken from Photographers Formulary
We are sorry that the paper was damaged in shipping. We have replaced this shipment of paper at no cost to Chris.

The paper arrived the next day, carefully packed and in great condition. I use it for Vandyke, cyanotypes and platinum/paladium prints.
