This product is the result of much trial and error. The first version of this focusing cloth was too light despite the weights in the corners, and it let too much light through. The second version, using 3 layers of cloth, was opaque enough, but too bulky and heavy. A light-tight cloth was of primary importance, followed by the lack of bulk. We eventually found some very special material, and the final version of the Focusing Cloth is ideal. It is substantial, but not bulky. The corners don't need to be weighted. The black side won't slide off your head or shoulders, and the white side is bright to reflect the sun. Most important these focusing cloths are completely opaque. Take it out in the sun; put it over your head and stare at the sun. You won't see any light! Two sizes are available for everything from 4x5" to 8x10" cameras. These focusing cloths are larger than they need to be - the largest size could easily be used with an 11x14" camera. Dry cleaning is recommended when needed.
